Definition
CHILDREN'S AMUSEMENT CENTER means a facility with amusement rides, games, play areas, and other activities, catering primarily to children 12 years of age and younger
COMMERCIAL AMUSEMENT (INSIDE) means a facility wholly enclosed in a building that offers entertainment or games of skill to the general public for a fee. This use includes but is not limited to a bowling alley or billiard parlor
Districts Permitted
Except as otherwise provided in this paragraph, by right in CR, RR, CS, industrial, central area, mixed use, and multiple commercial districts
By SUP only in CR, RR, CS, industrial, central area, mixed use, and multiple commercial districts for
- amusement centers, as defined in Chapter 6A of the Dallas City Code, as amended, with a floor area of 2,500 square feet or more, and located within 300 feet of a residential district; and
- all Class E dance halls, as defined in Chapter 14 of the Dallas City Code, as amended, within 300 feet of a residential district
RAR required in all districts for
- dance halls, as defined in Chapter 14 of the Dallas City Code, located within 300 feet of a residential district
By SUP only for dance halls, as defined in Chapter 14 of the Dallas City Code, as amended, in CR and CS districts
By SUP only for bingo parlors in the CR district
Required Off-Street Parking
Bingo parlor: one space per 50 square feet of floor area
Bowling alley: six spaces per lane
Children's amusement center: one space per 200 square feet of floor area
Dance halls: one space per 25 square feet of dance floor and one space per 100 square feet of floor area for the remainder of the use. Delta credits may not be used to meet this off-street parking requirement.
Motor track: one space per 1000 square feet of restricted track area and one space per additional 200 square feet of floor area
Skating rinks: one space per 200 square feet of floor area
Other uses: one space per 100 square feet of floor area
