• The Citadel, in North Dallas, located in Councilmember Linda Koop's district
• Claremont, in Far East Dallas, located in Councilmember Leo V. Chaney, Jr.'s district
• Lake Cliff, in North Oak Cliff, located in Councilmember Dr. Elba Garcia's district
• Bryan Place, in Old East Dallas, located in Councilmember Angela Hunt's district

Program Basics

• Residents will use a 96-gallon roll cart designated for recyclable items. They are not charged for the cart.
• Almost 1,500 residents live in the demonstration program areas.
• The areas are all different ethnically, geographically, and in their housing stock.
• Garbage and recycling collection is on Wednesdays, beginning September 1.
• The program will evaluate ‘single-stream recycling' (recyclable items do not require separation by category).
• The program will evaluate the potential of once-a-week garbage collection.
• Program cost is $150,000.
• Participants include City of Dallas sanitation customers residing in single-family homes, town homes, condominiums and some multifamily properties.

Participating residents were notified of the program by direct mail, door flyers, community meetings and information provided with the recycling roll cart when it was delivered in August.
