American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA) is designed to inject money quickly into the economy by using pre-existing programs, criteria, and funding methods. Money will be distributed directly to federal agencies, states, and local governments using pre-existing funding formulas. Other funds will be made available through federal agencies via a competitive application process. The City of Dallas will benefit from the formula funds already allocated, in the amount of $86.8 million, through direct funding of City of Dallas Programs and through projects within Dallas funded through other agencies. Additionally, the City of Dallas will submit applications for approximately $364 million in competitive grant funding. ARRA funding is available for a wide range of projects including infrastructure improvements, technology upgrades, energy efficiency, job training, law enforcement, housing, and health care. Check back frequently as the City will continue to refine this website and will include tools that will allow visitors to track and monitor the progress of its ARRA-funded projects. Briefings
