1.Where can I obtain survey information about my property?  Lot #, Block #, Maps, Plats, etc.

Oak Cliff Municipal Center - 320 E. Jefferson, Room 314, the Survey Division of the Public Works and Transportation Department, telephone number 214-948-4149.  However, the city does not have records of individual property surveys, such as the survey that was performed when you bought your house.  This information should be available at the Title Company you used when your house was purchased.

2.Why is the City surveying my property?

Various other agencies may be performing survey activities.  Public Works and Transportation employees will be driving City of Dallas vehicles with Public Works and Transportation markings.   If the survey crew is in a PWT vehicle, please contact the Survey Division at the Oak Cliff Municipal Center at 320 E. 3.Will the City do a survey on my property?

No.  The PWT Survey Division only performs surveys on public rights-of-way or for City business. It will be necessary to contact a private surveyor to do surveys for other purposes.

4.Why are the surveyors digging in my yard?

In the process of performing a survey, monuments that mark the property and the right-of-way must be found and measured.  These monuments are usually iron rods or pipes that can be buried in the ground up to one foot or more in depth.

5.  I need a copy of a map showing the location of the existing underground drainage system in a particular area.  Where can I get this map?
