Dallas Volunteer & Donation Registry

To offer assistance to Hurricane Katrina victims, please contact the Volunteer Center of North Texas. Due to the high volume of calls, OEM recommends accessing the organization's web site. Once at the site, individuals and agencies can enter themselves into the Skillbank and complete the volunteer form which can them be faxed or emailed back to the organization. They will be contacted by Volunteers of North Texas to provide assistance.

For school enrollment information, please go to the DISD web site.

The students can begin enrolling on Monday. In order for the students to be accepted without records, immunizations, etc. they will have to be enrolled as homeless students. Students living in temporary living arrangements due to loss of housing will most likely qualify as "homeless" students and may enroll in the school district where they are physically present without proof of residence. Evacuated students will receive free breakfast and/or lunch immediately. Being designated as a homeless student qualifies the students for school supply and clothing assistance as well.
