Service Area Coordinator

"Quality Customer Service" is the principle for defining how the City of Dallas should serve its customers. To support this principle, a Service Area Coordination Team was instituted to focus on the specific needs of businesses, organizations and Dallas residents within area communities. Presently the team has five service area coordinators who are working together to serve as a link for quality customer service and community outreach in all six service areas of Dallas. Currently, we are in need of a Service Area Coordinator who can assist with one of the six service areas in the City to complete the team.

Responsibilities of each Service Area Coordinator include, providing awareness of programs and city services, coordinating multi-departmental activities to accomplish desired community goals and serving as the area advocate for important neighborhood issues that need to be heard by the City. In addition, team members work closely to develop holistic approaches to address and resolve complex issues that require multi-agency collaborative efforts.

The ideal candidate will not only have a keen interest in these activities but also excellent project management, time management skills and an ability to work under pressure. Each candidate must possess both written and verbal skills to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to department heads, the executive team, City council members and the communities they will serve and represent. This is the ideal position for the individual who wants to play a role in revitalizing the City of Dallas and make a difference for the city organization and the communities they represent.

To qualify for this position applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or business related field and at least three (3) years of successful professional experience developing relationships and serving as a project manager providing public relations and customer service in both one-on-one and large group settings.  Ability to communicate in Spanish or another second language will be given strong consideration.

Salary range for this position is $45,500 – $61,000 annually. Position Open Until Filled.
