Department Functions

Event Management provides coordination and in-house management on national conventions, trade shows, public events and meetings for the Dallas Convention Center lessees.

Convention Utilities provides the Convention Center's clients the opportunity to purchase electricity and electrical installation and service.

Reunion Arena provides a sports and entertainment facility to serve the patrons of Reunion Arena.

Facility Maintenance provides for the daily maintenance and operation of building equipment.

Financial & Administrative Management provides financial management and support activities to all departmental programs.

Farmers Market provides management of market facilities including the coordination of stall rentals. In addition, the market provides a central location for wholesale and retail sales of farm produce, flowers and specialty items.

Parking Services provides the leasing of the 1,275 parking spaces at the Convention Center.

Special Events provides coordination and management of special events within the City of Dallas. The emphasis is on promoting economic development by increasing the level of special events and commercial filming.

Union Station serves as the City's hub for railway transportation. Space not required for transportation purposes has been leased to Woodbine Development Corporation for subletting.

Food & Beverage Service provides food and beverage service to Convention Center clients.

Municipal Radio provides the only 24-hour-a-day classical music broadcast in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. Regular programming includes the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and other major symphony orchestras; Metropolitan and other operas; local and national news; exclusive broadcasts of the Dow Jones Report and Barron Reports; public affairs programming such as Dallas City Council meetings; arts reviews; and interviews and simulcasts with WFAA-TV.
