Designated Landmark Structures Davy Crockett School As an example of the Italian Renaissance architectural style, the David Crockett School was built in 1903. The school was built to accommodate the growing population of East Dallas. It was the oldest operating school in the Dallas Independent School District when it closed on January 3, 1989. The building now houses administrative offices for DISD.
