FEMA remapping effort of areas behind the levees

The Trinity River Corridor Project Committee was presented with this update regarding the current status of the 100-Year Dallas Levee Improvements.


Earlier this year, FEMA has recently announced that it will seek alternative methodology for remapping areas behind levees that are not certified. This announcement will delay Dallas’ pending Trinity River related floodplain maps.

A presentation was given to the Trinity River Corridor Project Committee on February 8, 2011. This information provides an update of the progress on the 100-year levee remediation and an outline of the next steps including the estimated timeline for making the 100-year levee fixes.
