FEMA remapping effort of areas behind the levees The Trinity River Corridor Project Committee was presented with this update regarding the current status of the 100-Year Dallas Levee Improvements. Earlier this year, FEMA has recently announced that it will seek alternative methodology for remapping areas behind levees that are not certified. This announcement will delay Dallas’ pending Trinity River related floodplain maps. This information provides an update of the progress on the 100-year levee remediation and an outline of the next steps including the estimated timeline for making the 100-year levee fixes. 100-Year Levee Improvement Plan (PDF) Recap of Outreach Activities During 2010, the City held meetings for the property owners behind the west levee. All of the information presented is the same for the meetings in 2010 and 2011.

The postcard below was sent to all property owners behind the east levee and Rochester that may be effected by FEMA’s remapping.
