Background
Project Reconnect is a comprehensive outreach program designed to provide reentry case management and community referrals to help non-violent offenders on parole transition into the Dallas community from a state or federal prison. Five (5) core components of the Project Reconnect program focus on pre and post assistance in the areas of employment, housing, education, recovery support and community service.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-violent offenders 18 or older
- On parole
- Live in the City of Dallas
- Meet HUD low to moderate income guidelines
Target Audience
Persons with a history of substance abuse, mental health, or HIV/AIDS, however, assistance is availabe to all meeting the above criteria.
What are the Benefits?
As part of "Project Reconnect" participants receive on-going case management designed for goal attainment for self sufficiency within a maximum of a 24-month period.
Support assistance is provided to participants by working closely with parole officers, educational, medical and social service agencies to provide resources to participants in the areas of housing, employment, education, counseling, medical, and recovery support services.
