A word from the Manager
 The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center has increased community outreach by supporting and coordinating community events and collaborating with outside agencies and corporations.
Increased number of visitors to the Center currently exceeds 29,000 per month.
Most receive services from one of more than 25 agencies providing services at the
Center. The Center is consistently achieving an 88% satisfaction rating or greater each month.
The Center’s Social-Services Program has assisted over 334 citizens with an average of $293.49 per senior citizen. Total funds used from existing accounts for the general public are $169,394.09 for FY2005-2006. The Social-Services Program consistently exceeds a 97% satisfaction rating.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center recently hosted a Job Fair for ex-offenders that attracted more than 5,000 visitors to the Center. This unique job fair was the vision of the Texas Alliance for the Formerly Incarcerated and 97.9 The Beat Radio Station.
