Noise

Complaints of noise from stationary sources (e.g., air conditioner units, construction sites, nightclubs/bars, dumpsters being emptied, parked ice cream vendors, etc.) are investigated regarding conformance with Chapter 30 of the Dallas City Code. Complaints about aircraft noise are referred to Aviation, or citizens can call (214) 670-6610. Noise from moving vehicles is regulated by the Dallas Police Department.

Tobacco Smoking Ordinance

The City of Dallas regulates smoking in retail and service establishments; restaurants and other food establishments; and City-owned, operated, or managed facilities. Employers are required to designate smoking areas and implement a written policy on smoking in the workplace. Call (214) 948-4429 for information.

Vector Control

This program works to prevent the spread of mosquito-transmitted diseases, such as encephalitis, to the public. For more information go to the City's mosquito control program page. Information concerning the control of a variety of pests, including rats, roaches, and other insects, is also available from this office.

Environmental Health Commission

EHC coordinates activities of this Dallas City Council-appointed commission that serves as a resource for the City Council and its committees, City departments, and other City boards and commissions by assessing and providing recommendations regarding environmental issues of concern to the citizens of Dallas.
