- On June 8, 2005 the Dallas City Council formally adopted the
Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the Dallas Central Business
District as the guiding policy for transportation-related improvements
in the CBD
- Based on recommendations outlined
in this study and the “Inside The Loop Committee” recommendations, staff
has detailed an implementation
plan of immediate action items that could be considered for funding in
the 2006 Bond Program

- The recommended changes outlined in the study are based on a 21st
century vision for how downtown Dallas should be used
- The vision statement created with input from downtown stakeholders and
policy makers envisions a downtown environment that focuses on all modes
of transportation in a balanced, safe and efficient system
- The vision statement addressed transportation functionality, land use/
economic development and quality of life

the study recommendations detailed in the plan:
- 2nd light rail transit corridor locations
- One-way to two-way street conversions

- Pedestrian enhancements
