Animal Services - Southern Dallas Loose Dog Initiative

Beginning December 8, 2008, the Department of Code Compliance will begin conducting a Southern Dallas Loose Dog Initiative.  Neighborhood Code Representatives, Code Officers, and Animal Services Officers will distribute educational flyers, posters and door hangers throughout the Southwest, South Central, South East and Central parts of the city.    The purpose of this initiative is to pick up loose dogs in these targeted areas and educate residents on Chapter 7 – Animals of the Dallas City Code.

This Initiative is in response to a large number of loose and aggressive dog service requests received in the past year.  For this initiative, eight (8) Animal Service Officers will be dedicated to sweeping these target areas from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week, over a five (5) week timeframe.
