When and where is the City of Dallas Auto Auction held?

The auto auction is held every Monday at 10:00 A.M.. When Monday is a holiday, the auction is held the next business day (Tuesday) starting at 10:00 A.M. Registration is from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. the day of the auction and autos may be inspected beginning at 9:30 A.M. The City of Dallas holds it auto auctions at the Dallas Police Department Auto Pound located at 1955 Vilbig.

When and where are the City of Dallas Miscellaneous (City surplus and unclaimed confiscated property and bicycles) Auctions held?

The City Store sells police confiscated, found or lost property as well as City surplus property to the public. The City Store is located at 3131 Irving Blvd., Suite 605 (Irving Blvd and Lakawana St.). Store Hours are Monday - Wednesday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (For department transfers only.) Thursday from 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Open to the Public) Closed on Friday. For further nformation, call (214) 670-6269.

When and where are the City of Dallas Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions held?

The City of Dallas Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions are held at least three times a year. Auctions are scheduled when an adequate quantity of property becomes available for sale. Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions are normally held on a Tuesday. Property for this auction may be inspected the Friday before the auction date from 7:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Registration is the day of the auction from 8:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. Auctioning of property begins at 9:00 A.M. For information on scheduled Miscellaneous Auction date, please call (214) 670-3350. The Fleet & Heavy Equipment Auctions are held at 5516 Gregg Street (Mapsco 34T). The Salvage Auctions are held at 2761 Municipal Street (Mapsco 56M).

Is a description (make, model, year, etc.) of the autos scheduled for sell at the Monday auctions published in the newspaper?

Yes, a description of the autos is published every Friday in the Classified Section of the Dallas Morning News. This information is published 3 weeks in advance of the scheduled auction date.

Is there a registration fee charged to attend the City of Dallas Auto Auction?

No, there is no registration fee charged to attend the auction.

What type of identification is needed to attend the City of Dallas auctions?

All persons interested in participating in the City of Dallas auctions must be 18 years of age with a valid State photo identification to register.

What type of payments does the City accept for items purchased at the auctions?

The City of Dallas accepts checks and cash. All checks must be accompanied by a Letter of Guarantee. MasterCard and Visa are accepted at the Miscellaneous Auctions (City surplus and unclaimed confiscated property and bicycles).
