Suggested Organizational Process

Organize volunteers, pick one representative person to coordinate documents, clearances and other processes; as a group, decide upon a potential planting area.

Contact utility companies for clearance on the proposed planting area. Obtain documentation of the clearance granted. Determine planting areas.

Pick tree species based on planting area available.

Consider area below and above ground and utility clearance.

Follow the "General guidelines for landscaping" information.

Consult the tree guide.

Sketch the planting area and proposed plantings.

Submit proposal to Streets Department for the Mow-mentum agreement to plant and maintain trees. They need 3 months to review.

When the Streets department approves the Mow-mentum agreement, submit it along with the other required material to the city arborist for tree request.

Submit when documents are completed in June for a fall planting.
