General Information
Eligibility: Open to anyone age 50+ as of December 31, 2008. Age categories will be in five year increments for most men and women’s events.
Registration: All registration forms & fees must be received by March 17, 2008. Registrations received after March 17 will be subject to a $5.00 late fee. If late fee applies but not included, registration will not be accepted. No registration forms will be accepted after March 21st. The liability release form must be signed and must accompany your registration form. Confirmation of entry will be sent by return mail.
Clothing & equipment: All athletes must wear athletic type clothing and shoes, which are usual and customary for the sport in which they are competing. Any equipment a participant uses must meet the standards of that sport. Participants are expected to provide their own equipment unless stated in the event description section. Team uniforms-team clothing (shirt, pants/shorts) must be of like design and color. Teams must have both “home” and “away” numbered shirts.
Awards: Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finalists, following completion of event & announcement of winners, with the exception of where other awards are indicated.
T-shirts: Every athlete will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Please circle the size you want on entry form.
Meals: Meals will not be provided.

How many events/sports may I enter? You may enter as many sports/events as you desire as long as the events are not held at conflicting times.
Cancellations: In the event of inclement weather, insufficient registration, or unusual and extenuating circumstances, Dallas Area Senior Games officials reserve the right to modify rules and formats, or to cancel events.
Rules: For complete rules go to the Texas Senior Games web site or the National Senior Games Association web site. The Event Coordinator is the final authority for rules interpretation.
Unsportsmanlike Behavior: Profanity or disruption of an event will not be allowed and could result in disqualification of the participant for that event and/or the Games.
Refunds: No refunds will be given due to inclement weather or unusual and extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Requests for refunds due to health reasons must be received no later than April 30, 2008.
Registration Fees: $10.00 entry fee plus event fee and team fee (if applicable) when registered by March 10, 2008. Make check/money orders payable to: Dallas Area Senior Games

Packet pick-up: Packets will be distributed at your first event. If necessary, participants can pick-up their packet at Bachman Recreation Center, 2750 Bachman Drive, Dallas, TX 75220 after April 1, 2008.
Age for competition: Age divisions for all singles competition will be determined by the athlete’s age on December 31, 2008. Age division for all doubles competition will be determined by the younger age of the two players as of December 31, 2008. Age division for teams will be determined by the youngest player’s age as of December 31, 2008.
Age division of competition: All athletes must be at least 50 years of age as of December 31, 2008 to compete in the Dallas Area Senior Games. The following age categories will apply to both men and women for all individual and doubles competition unless otherwise specified in the event descriptions: 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; 85-89; 90-94; 95-99; and 100+. All team sports are divided in the following categories for men and women: 50+; 55+; 60+; 65+; and 70+.
Partners/team entry: Each participant must send in a registration form & fee(s) for their event(s) regardless of partner entry. Teams will pay a team entry fee, and each team member must submit a registration form and individual entry fee. Mail together in one envelope: forms & fees for each player, and the roster listing players .
Qualification for State Competition: The top five finishers and those meeting the Minimum Performance Standards will advance to the State competitions that will be held September 19-28, 2008. You can expect to receive an entry form in the Summer. Recreation contests are open events. For more information on Texas Senior Games check their website.
