Walter Passmore, City Forester, Dallas Park and Recreation
alter is currently employed by the City of Dallas, Parks and Recreation Department as the City Forester.
In this position, he facilitates assessment and management of the urban forests of Dallas, coordinates public information for tree care and broad scale urban forest management, provides technical assistance to individuals, city departments and community groups, and coordinates partnership projects with many organizations. He was previously employed as the Assistant Division Director for Public Outreach by the Mississippi Forestry Commission. He received a B.S. degree in Forestry from California Polytechnic State University.
Walter has represented the State Forester of Mississippi on the Urban Forestry Committee of the National Association of State Foresters and has served as the Mississippi representative to the Southern Group of State Foresters Urban and Community
Forestry Committee. In addition, he has been a speaker at the Southern Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture and at numerous urban forestry conferences in Arkansas and Mississippi.

Walter is a certified arborist and member of the Dallas Urban Forest Advisory Committee. He and wife Sunny are the parents of two sons. He enjoys sports, travel, and woodworking.
