Contract for processing and collection
of parking tickets to increase efficiency
Significant savings also a large part of new deal

DALLAS (July 14, 2005) - The City of Dallas Public Works and Transportation Department recently awarded a new contract to local vendor ACS State and Local Solutions, Inc. for more efficient processing of parking tickets and collection of parking fines.

ACS is expected to deliver more convenient ticket processing, utilizing phone or Internet transactions. Payment by telephone, 24 hours a day, may be completed by calling 1-866-247-1951. Tickets may also be paid online by accessing the City’s website www.dallascityhall.com.

“Previously, tickets were processed out of state”, says Public Works and Transportation Department Assistant Director John Brunk. “The new system handles tickets locally, significantly decreasing processing time, a convenience to our customers,” Brunk continued.

Parking tickets may also be paid by mail and in person at the City of Dallas Parking Services, a new storefront located at 1200 Ross Ave. operated Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Additionally, purchasing of parking related permits such as loading zone permits, Fair Park parking permits, hooding permits, residential permits, and cash keys are now consolidated at this location. Previously, these permits could be purchased at various locations throughout the City.

ACS will also establish a call service center that will accommodate parking related customer service calls.

The new contract covers only parking citations. Fines and hearings for moving violation citations will continue to be processed Courts and Detention Services, 2014 Main in downtown Dallas.

The ACS contract is set up for five years with an option to renew. This contract guarantees the City of Dallas $5.9 million annually, increasing the operation’s current overall net revenue by 28% over the full life of the contract.
