Dallas Confirms New Mosquito Case

 City to Spray in North Dallas  

Dallas - The City of Dallas has confirmed mosquitoes collected from North Dallas area tested positive for West Nile Virus, and will spray the areas. Dead birds were also reported at the locations.

Mosquito Spraying, August 5 and August 6

City staff will spray in North Dallas area between 10:30 p.m. Friday, August 5 and 6 a.m. Saturday, August 6. The area to be sprayed is bordered on the north by Estate Lane. On the east, the boundary is Wickersham Road.  On the south, the boundary is McCree Road and on the west, Lynbrook Drive and Leaside Drive.

Spraying can only be effective if winds are below 10 miles per hour. Residents in treatment areas are advised to remain indoors, keep pets inside and avoid contact with the spray. For additional information on Mosquito Control, visit the City's website at www.dallascityhall.com .
