Dallas Confirms New Mosquito Cases of West Nile,
City to Spray Near Highland Park Border

Dallas – The City of Dallas has confirmed mosquitoes collected from two locations near the city’s border with the Town of Highland Park tested positive for West Nile Virus, and will spray the areas between 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28 and 6 a.m. Friday, July 29.

One spray area is west of Central Expressway and east and south of Highland Park. The area is bounded by the Highland Park town limits, Douglas Avenue, Gilbert Avenue/Blackburn Street, and McKinney Avenue. The City of Dallas will also spray around the Lemmon Avenue/Dallas North Tollway intersection. That spray area is bounded by Douglas and Wycliff avenues, Maple Avenue, Kings Road, Lemmon Avenue, and the Highland Park town limits.

Residents in treatment areas are advised to remain indoors, keep pets inside and avoid contact with the spray. For additional information on Mosquito Control, visit the City’s website.
