City of Dallas Labor Day/Cesar Chavez
Holiday Closings, Schedules

All City of Dallas offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in observance of the Labor Day/Cesar Chavez holiday.

The J. Erik Jonsson Central Library and all branch libraries will be closed. City of Dallas recreation centers will be closed on Monday, September 5

Residential garbage service will be provided, however the Department of Sanitation Services administrative offices will be closed.

Other city departments and services will operate as follows:

• The Dallas Police Department will operate on a normal schedule, however administrative offices will be closed;
• Dallas Fire-Rescue will operate on a normal schedule;
• The 911 and 311 Communications Center will operate on a normal schedule;
• Animal Control Shelters will be closed to the public. Animal control officers will respond to calls for service through 311.
• Lew Sterret Justice Center, 111 W. Commerce will be open for customer service for Class C misdemeanor citations. The facility operates 24 hours/7days a week including holidays.
