Dallas Public Library to exhibit “Enjoy the Ride:
Classic Scooters of the 20th Century”
August 5th to September 30, 2005

The Dallas Public Library will provide motor enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience an exhibition of vehicles reminiscent of a great era. Revel in the rides that inspired a mod generation as sleek stylish scooters zoom into the Dallas Public Library for an ultra cool summer show.

This premier presentation of vintage rarities was assembled over two decades by Steve Davis, a Dallas area collector who searches around the world and beyond for scooters that will drive you wild. The more unusual the ride the better, although ride he must, and each scooter in his collection is a fully operational runner. He has chosen several of his favorites to exhibit at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young street, representing such classic makes as Lambretta, Goggo, Peugeot, Czeta and Rumi Formichino. Mr. Davis will present an informal lecture and slide show presentation detailing the colorful histories and delightful personalities of these classic motors on Saturday, August 20th at 2 p.m. at the 4th floor performance space.

The vintage scooter exhibition will be from August 5th through September 30, 2005 at the First floor Bookends case and 4th floors showcases. Admission is free, so scoot on over to the Central Library, then sit back and enjoy the ride. For additional information on the scooters, please contact Mr. Steve Davis at 214-725-8103.
