Latino Cultural Presents: 2nd Annual Juried Art Exhibit,
Hecho in Dallas/Made in Dallas

The Latino Cultural Center proudly presents, the 2nd Annual Juried Art Exhibit, Hecho en Dallas/Made in Dallas, featuring 9 talented artists from the Metroplex exhibiting work in all mediums. Hecho en Dallas/Made in Dallas will open on Thursday May 5, 2005 and will run through Saturday June 25, 2005. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Thursday May 5, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., please RSVP by calling 214-670-3320.
The featured artists are: Elizabeth Amaro, Sibylle Bauer, Sara Cardona, Shelia Cunningham, Amalia El-Masri, Jesus Galvan, Juan Hernandez, Christine Kritz, and Cristina Nava. These professional artists have years of experience exhibiting their work in galleries and other art venues and unite their talents to create…Hecho en Dallas/Made in Dallas. Together, they display diverse artworks such as nature-inspired photographs by Sibylle Bauer, exuberantly colored paintings by Juan Hernandez and limestone sculptures fashioned by Amalia El-Masri. Other featured works are mixed media paintings by Sara Cardona, Polaroid transfer photographs by Sheila Cunningham and black and white photographs by Christina Nava. Rounding out the exhibit are satirical paintings by Jesus Galvan, humorous photographs by Christine Kritz and inspirational paintings by Elizabeth Amaro.

Participating artists were meticulously selected by the following panel of 7 jurors: Cynthia Anzaldua, Steve Beck, Enrique Fernandez Cervantes, Phillip Collins, Viola Delgado, Eva-Marie Kutscheid and Maria Teresa Garcia-Pedroche.
The Latino Cultural Center is supported by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. The mission of the Latino Cultural Center is to serve as a catalyst for the preservation, development and promotion of Latino and Hispanic arts and culture in Dallas. The Center is located at 2600 Live Oak, Dallas, Texas 75204 and is open Tuesday thru Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 11 am to 4 pm.
